Say goodbye.

It is what I told myself when I came home from my orthodontist last week, after almost 3 years of braces it was time for me to say goodbye to my superior braces (inferior will be off next 15th). Well, since my last regular appointment he told me he did what he could even through it was not perfect he did his best, so I decided to embrace it and be thankful and get the braces off so he sent me a message in the morning and told me my retainers were ready and he would find a time for me in the afternoon (he is always amazing to me) that's when I thought oh gosh, really? What if... What if it's bad? What if I don't like it? And I started to freak, my nervous started to take over my sanity and I wanted to cry but at this point I had to go, there was no turn back , but it got better when I got some sweet and positive tweets by the sweet Channele and one by my friend Monica so slowly the butterflies started to fly away from my stomach and when I came to the orthodontist clinic he was super nice and quick and it ended well and I loved the result.
After years of pain and bullying on school due my over bite for me it was like starting a new life, as a new person ready for a new [happy] start. ;)

Hi cold days

Hi, I'm a total mess right now as the cold came in town with all it is energy so I don't feel like doing anything but sleep in the last days, or weeks maybe... I even had to get Merlin into his old cloth, it's kinda shorty but helped, and reminded I need to shop for this guy but besides my every day to do's and getting my braces off next week I haven't had to anything at all.



But in a side note, I have a favor to ask, there's is this girl named Savannah from Sleepy King, she makes plushes, pretty ones, go check on her work you will fall in love with her sweet handmade stuff, I'm a huge fan of handmade so I'm dying for her stuff, sadly I can't get anything because, you know, no international credit card for me and my mom isn't letting me borrow her so...
But for real if you have a chance really get something from her I'm sure you wouldn't regret, you give something for your girlfriend for the kids or for yourself as well, but the favor isn't it (why I never go straight to the point?) so... She's up for a important competition and I would like to ask anyone reading this to please vote for her, it takes a minute.

[A late music Sunday] @IamChannel + weekend fun.

I know I'm late on this again, sorry friends (if someone is ever reading this) but my sunday was super busy with the fam + my beau. We spent the Sunday at my sister's house in a BBQ, I loved to spend some time with my family and beloved ones, I got my nieces a new pair of boots to each and today my sister told me they slept with it, it just made my day better.But let's go to what matters....

My late music sunday, her name is Chanelle [dont ask me her last name] but she's on twitter and instagram over @iamchanelle, a friend of mines accidentally found her cover of Behind Blue eyes on YouTube and immediately texted me "OMG Lexie I found this one singer you gonna love" and dmed me her cover link, I fell in love as I heard it, so I decided to follow her on instagram ( it's an addiction) and I got surprised when I commented under one of her pics and 'introduced myself' thinking she would never comment back and think I was a little loco, but instead she was really sweet, and even said I made her day better, what made me glad because I love to make people's day better.
So, you know, talented + sweet + beautiful = perfect combo, so go check her out.

[Music Sunday] 5 questions with The Devious Angels.

This week the music Sunday is very special to me, thanks to twitter I've got to know a sweet country duo a few weeks ago, I love to find new music and more than anything I love to talk to nice people that treat their fans so well, so I wanted to do something nice to the blog and give them a little promotion because they deserve all the best then I asked them if they could ask a few questions and they said YES, aren't them amazing, so here we go...

1. Where did the name "the devious angels" came from?
Our band name, "The Devious Angels", was thought up by smooshing Steevie's last name "Steeves" and my last name, "Decious", together. "Steevious" wasn't a real word, so we went with "Devious" and just added "Angels" because we thought it sounded cool. We tried not to think to hard about it. haha!

2. Did you guys have a career before the band?
We've both played in bands since we were teenagers. Steevie was in cover bands in Pennsylvania and I was in a rock band called The Pink Spiders and a country band, Dixie Whiskey, before starting The Devious Angels.

3. Who's is your biggest influence in the business, do you have any idols?
Our influences are all over the map! Any, and everyone, from Celine Dion to The Rolling Stones to Fleetwood Mac to George Strait!

4. Recently Joy Williams from the civil wars said "Piracy has it's drawbacks, but it also has positives"...do you agree?
Music piracy, like everything else, is a double-edged sword. Like Joy Williams said, it's got it's upsides and it's downsides. Definitely a long discussion that we couldn't possibly get into in such a short interview! haha!

5. If you had to chose, what would be your favorite song on your EP?
Collectively, our favorite song from the E.P. would be "Somebody's Somebody". It was one of the first songs Steevie and I wrote together and, overall, it just sounds so different and we love that.

Cool iPhone photo apps that aren't so known

I'm not going to talk about instagram or hiptasmatic, I love these but the idea of this post is to talk about the photo apps that I like and most people don't know (I think?).
I love taking pics, and I love how it is becoming easier, years ago we would need to use all the film and stuff and nowadays you take a pic if dont like it, you delete it and do it again, it's easy but can take away a little of the beauty of the pictures ( I'm a very old school lady at 22) so I'm always looking for picture apps that allow me to give my digital pics some old, or just a different look and so I found some cool ones I don't see people mention often and I decided to make this post, here you go.

1. MagicHour ForMe: this app is one of my favorites because once you get the paid version it gives you a infinity amount of filters, it's free filters market and those filters are submitted by users, and you can creat your owns as well and submit to their market or keep it saved just for yourself for future use, and when you use the market you can search for the kinda of effect you are looking for and download as many as you want, as if you want a vintage filter you search for vintage and find a huge amount of vintage filters. I've been using this since I was an android user and I think that after all this time it may still be my favorite, the only thing that some people may not like about it is that as on instagram the picture has to be square.


2. Qbro: This app has really nice effects, and they explain how to use it all since at first the app can be a little complex, but once you learn it's cool to play with, it has two negative points, all pics are square (which I don't think is so bad since I'm used to it) and the most awful one is that you have to pay for the app and still some of the filters are paid, what is unfair in my opinion and also it's missing frames.


3. ClassicInsta: this one didn't have many effects (they are around 10) but they are lovely to who like to add an old look to their pictures. It's also square pictures and you can edit pics from your camera roll.


4. Camera+: this one has some cool options that allow you to play with light improving the pics quality , you can make it square or whatever you prefer ( this one doesn't force you to square your pics) and it also has some nice effects.


5. InstaPlus: this one is for all the instagram lovers, this app has cool styles and frames, you can combine different effects and frames, and theres an option called open on instagram, once you are done playing with your pics, it will allow you to open the result directly on instagram and share the result there.


6. Instant110: This one reminds me of hiptasmatic but with a positive side that you can use pics from your gallery then make different films, lens and devolopers, once you chose one of the options it gives you samples of each combination, once you chose one of the combinations you can always make changes before saving, I admit instagram has prettier effects but this one is cool.

PS: I resized the pictures to make them fit on my layout. Each app has it's own resolution options (or not but the smaller one was 612x612 with instaplus)

Moving...

After blogging for a while on tumblr, I decided it was time to move foraward and move to a self hosted website, well, I decided to apply for a free host at Blabous and they got me a home. I'll get a domain name to make the site name shorter as soon as I can but meanwhile please bookmark this one so you won't get lost or confused. I hope now the blog will get more readers.
I'll be blogging about everything here I hope you guys like it as much as I love writing here.
